Ever since I was a little kid, I have always loved music. My parents have pictures and videos of me when I was about 7 or 8 years old dancing to music out on the dance floor. I have always been captivated by other DJ's light shows since then as well. Years passed by where I hadn't been exposed to any form of DJing until the summer of 2010. I believe that that was the time that truly set my path for DJing. My family was celebrating my sister's birthday and we hired a DJ to play music and provide a light show. When the DJ arrived and set up, I fell in love. I was astonished by the amount and complexity of the equipment. During the party, I kept requesting songs and the DJ started to call me his "little DJing buddy" because I had requested so many songs. He later asked me if I wanted to come back and watch him, which I did. When I saw how everything worked, I loved it even more. It seemed like so much fun to me. At the end of the night, I helped him pack up the equipment and load it into his trailer. I was devastated that the night had come to an end so quickly. A few more years went by where I wasn't exposed to any DJing until a wedding in 2014. The DJ didn't have as much equipment but I still found it amazing. It was at this time that I started realizing that the DJ controls the mood of the event. If the DJ is not in a great mood and they play slower music, the crowd is affected in a negative way. I started understanding the importance of the kind of music and the order of which it was played. That event came to a close, and it was another year or so until I was once again exposed to DJing. The event was another wedding, but this DJ was like none I had ever seen before. This was the first DJ that had a rack with 2 CD drives and the capability of using a laptop. I realized that not all DJ's only use laptops. I was invited back to watch this DJ work his magic once again. This time was different though...he eventually invited me to physically help him DJ. I got to choose and queue songs and control the EQ levels. This was the first time I had gotten to physically use DJing equipment and I loved it. The night came to a close yet again, but this time I wasn't upset...I was excited to go home and research DJ's. A couple years later, I was looking at used DJing equipment when my father made the ultimate decision. He invested money in me to get my first pair of DJing speakers and my first mixer. He saw potential in me and I promised to deliver. Eventually, he invested even more money to get lights, a hazer, and subwoofers. Now, here we are today. At the age of 15, I have owned and maintained Flow Entertainment for almost an entire year out of Elk River, Minnesota, thanks to the help of my parents. My dad helped by investing in me and helping me make business decisions and my mom helped by helping me make website and music decisions. I am truly so grateful to have such amazing parents that never gave up on me and that saw potential and invested in me. Thank you to all who helped me along this journey and thank you to all my amazing and loyal customers for choosing Flow Entertainment as your go-to entertainment service.
